Golden Treasure Chests are opened using a Gold Key, which are obtained by exchanging 100 Silver Keys atMorco (Day Vendor). The chests have long and random timer of anywhere between 12 – 18 hours. This can make it quite difficultto find a chest that has spawned but not been opened already. Below is a list of 48spawn locations with map links and screenshots.
Here are also a few tricks you can use to help find a chest:
- Treasure chests spawn on every channel so if you can you should swap channels at one location (when you can) between moving somewhere else.
- You can swap through channels that currently have a node war, without getting the cool-down! Chests still spawn on these channels (confirmed).
1. Capital of Calpheon
Head up into the Calpheon Castle and cross the courtyard up the stairs. Straight in front you will see a building with two red and white flags on either side of the archway. Go inside and up the stairs to the top. Just behind the stairs you will see a ladder you can climb. Go up the ladder then turn right and move along the edge of the building. You will see another ladder you can climb up. Once you’re at the top, climb up the corners of the building. Be careful that you don’t fall! The chest is located at the very top in the middle of the tower.
2. Phoniel’s Cabin
Go to the cabin then head north until you come to a large cave. Go into the cave and the chest should be next to a broken wagon.
3. Trina Fort
This chest is technically located in Dane Canyon, but it is found just west of Trina Fort. This chest can be a little harder to find because there isn’t anything distinctive in the area to describe it’s location. The chest is not too far away from the monsters and next to a white tree with a round boulder. Pay close attention to your mini-map and compare it to the one in the screenshot below.
4. Rhua Tree Stub
This chest is located directly on top of the Rhua Tree Stub node. Go to the south side of the tree and then jump up into the middle, this is where the chest is located.
5. Longleaf Tree Sentry Post
Take the elevator up into the tree at Longleaf Tree Sentry Post then run all the way up the stairs. Turn right at the end of the spiral stairs and then right again and up another spiral staircase. Once you get to the top there will be a ladder to climb to get to the very top of the tree. The chest is located just behind the top of the ladder.
6. Trent
Follow the river just south of Trent until you reach the end. On the right hand side you will see a small ledge with a bright blue plant on it. This is where the chest is located.
7. Delphe Castle
To the west of Delphe Castle there is a chest on the ledge just next to Heidel River. Carefully drop down into the river then run along the edge of the rocks until you come across the chest. Refer to the screenshot below and your mini-map.
8. Karanda Ridge
Head down the south east side of Karanda Ridge and a treasure chest will be in a dip in the land. Refer to your mini-map to help you find this chest.
9. Abandoned Land
This chest is located on the hill north of Abandoned Land. The chest is along the edge on the rocks and should be quite easy to spot.
10. Balenos Mountains
This chest is located right at the very top of Balenos Mountains. There should be Fire Flake Flowers in the area and lots of clumps of rocks. There will also be two Lead nodes you can mine that are a purple colour.
11. Foot of Thermian Mountain
This chest is one of the easier ones to find. Make sure you go along the shore as the chest is located at the bottom of the mountain in a small cave. The cave is north east of Foot of Thermian Mountain.
12. Foot of Thermian Mountain 2
This chest is located just north east of Foot of Thermian Mountain. The chest is on the top of the cliffs and right along the edge near an isolated round rock.
13. Agris Steppe
This one is located south west of Velia and east of Western Guard camp. The chest is located in the middle of a circular destroyed castle tower. It is very easy to find just by referring to your mini-map.
14. Cron Castle Site
This chest is located just east of Cron Castle Site node in the corner of a ruined building.
15. Cron Castle Site 2
To the east of Cron Castle Site, there is a broken wall that you can climb up. At the very top of the east side of the wall, there is a golden chest. There is also a silver key chest just below it.
16. Cron Castle
Go into Cron Castle and go up the stairs. Keep heading up and towards the south part of the castle.
17. Ephde Rune Island
This chest is located on the very south of the island. It’s very easy to find. If you don’t have a boat, you can get to the island by dropping down the cliffs just north of Cron Castle then swimming the short distance. You can even use the escape feature whilst on the island to be teleported back to Cron Castle afterwards.
18. Angie Island
This chest is located on the very south of Angie Island. The island is located north of Oliva.
19. Tashu Island
This chest is located on one of the Tashu Islands which are just east of Lema Island. There are 4 islands and the island the chest is on is the second one from the bottom. It very small so it’s easy to find and on the south side against the edge.
20. Lisz Island
The chest is located high up on the Island rocks on the south side. It’s quite easy to find but getting to the island can be difficult and you will need a boat.
21. Goblin Cave
Head inside Goblin Cave and take the right tunnel. Follow the tunnel and keep left until you get to a room with two totems. The chest is directly in front and to the right, next to a flag with torches on it.
22. Ancient Stone Chamber
Go into the Ancient Stone Chamber and follow down the hallways to the main room with the floating artifact. Across the room and to the rightthere is a chest behind one of the statues.
23. Heidel Pass
Go west of Heidel Pass and up into Balenos Mountains. The chest is located right next to a tree on the edge of the cliff.
24. Northern Heidel Quarry
Go to the bottom of Heidel Quarry, past the hut on the left, and then follow the north ramp all the way to the top of the cave. You’ll find the chest at the back on a rock ledge.
25. Castle Ruins
Go inside Castle Ruins and follow the stairs up into the castle. The chest is located at the top of the stairs in the east tower.
26. Bloody Monastery
This chest is located just south west of Bloody Monastery. Head up into the mountains and refer to your mini-map to find this chest.
27. Serendia Shrine
Go inside Serendia Shrine and take the left hallway. Follow it until you are in the large room with four pillars (where Kzarka spawns). The chest is against the south wall where the wooden planks and barrels are.
28. Evergart Falls
Go down the cliffs just north of Tungrad Forest. The chest is hidden in a small gap behind the waterfall. Climb up the rocks on the right hand side where the water drops, you will see a small gap you can fit through. You can also use the escape feature here to teleport back to Tarif.
29. Evergart Falls 2
Go down the cliffs just north of Tungrad Forest. The chest is to the west of the waterfall just a little bit lower down where there is sand. Keep going west to the end of the sand and the chest is in the grass between the rocks. You can also use the escape feature here to teleport back to Tarif.
30. Tungrad Forest
Follow the road along Tungrad Forest and cross the wooden bridge. The chest is located underneath the bridge on the right of the east side.
31. Wandering Rogue Den
This one can be quite hard to find because the area is large and everywhere looks the same! Pay close attention to your mini-map and look for a small cave located south east of Tarif. The chest is up against the pillar of the cave.
32. Wandering Rogue Den 2
Head south of Wandering Rogue Den to where the land sticks out. Keep to the west side and circle around the edge of the land. You will see an area you can drop down a little and in this dip of land you will find the chest.
33. Omar Lava Cave
Go into Omar Lava Cave and down the slopes on the left. Head directly straight and keep on the left side until you see an opening for a very large room with no monsters inside and an equator in the floor. This is a spawn location for a guild scroll quest. Go around the right side of the room and against the wall you will see some wooden planks. This is where the chest is located.
34. Elric Shrine
Go all the way up the stairs at Elric Shrine. Keep following them all the way up to the very top and then go into the big room in the middle. The chest is on the right when you go through the doorway.
35. Mediah Northern Gateway
This chest is located at the top of the north side of the wall at Mediah Northern Gateway.
36. Ancient Fissure
This chest is located directly west of the Ancient Fissure node between Rumbling Land and Helms Post. Go into the mountains and refer to your mini-map to find this one as there isn’t anything distinctive to describe in the area. The chest is between a large rock and a white tree
37. Waragon Nest
Start at the Node Manager for Waragon Nest in Valencia. Head up the entrance and keep to the right. Follow the pathway around and then on the right you will see some wooden stairs. Go up the stairs and the chest will be directly in front on top of the wooden planks.
38. Waragon Nest 2
Again start at the Node Manager for Waragon Nest in Valencia. Head up the entrance but this time go directly to the left. You’ll see a pillar on your right but keep following the path on the left. On your right you will see lots of wooden panels and a rock that looks as if it has a hole in it. The chest is up on top of one of the wooden panels.
39. Cadry Ruins
This chest is located on the west side of Cadry Ruins up on the rocks. The chest is hidden behind some planks of wood and you’ll see a broken pot.
40. Pilgrim’s Sanctum – Sharing
This one can be a little harder to find because it is right in the middle of the Valencia desert. It is directly east of Sand Grain Bazaar. If you are in Valencia, the easiest way to get there is to go on the outside of the city then open your map while you still can. Point your character in the direction and use the arrow to work out the angle you need to travel at. Once you get there, the chest is easy to find.
42. Kashuma Island
This chest is located on Kashuma Island, which is just north of Shakuta in Valencia. The chest is high up on the south cliff side.
42. AhkeumanTemple
This chest is probably the hardest one to get to. It is located inside Ahkeuman Templedungeon. You must first find the portal in Valencia desert to get into the dungeon. This is a high level dungeon designed for groups so be careful as the monster do hurt! Once you’re inside, head all the way up to the top of the stairs. Go down the hallway and you will see a crumbled room with lots of sand leaking through. Go around the right side of the room and then climb up the gap in the middle to a higher part of the dungeon and go straight on.
Keep going up to the top of the stairs again the once you’re at the top, go through the gap on the right of the room. Follow through the cave and then for the last time, head up to the top of the stairs and follow the path through the rooms. You will see a couple of NPCs on the right side but keep going forwards up the ramp and through the halls. In the last room you will see a chest at the end of the room.
43. Ross Sea
This chest is located on an island on the edge of the Ross sea. It is just north west of Pirate island (Kuit island). The chest is high up on the hill of the island on the east side, just above the beach. Refer to your mini-map and the image below to find this chest.
44. Ross Sea 2
This chest is located high up on the north side of the island just inside the Ross Sea.
45. Ross Sea 3
This chest is on the west side of the island inside the Ross Sea. The chest is underwater.
46.Rameda Island
This chest is located underwater just west of Rameda Island.
47.Tinberra Island
This chest is located west of Tinberra Island and is underwater.
48.Kuit Island
This chest is north east of Pirate Island (Kuit Island) and is underwater.
